The 5th EBS International Documentary Festival (EIDF2008) |

| 2.
Purpose |
| |
The festival has been established to promote the world's best documentaries through a week-long programming of documentaries via EBS-TV , Korea 's representative public educational channel. It seeks to provide an opportunity for the documentaries to communicate with their audience as well as to encourage young documentary filmmakers all around the world to produce new works. |

Organization |
| |
EIDF2008 is presented by Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS). |
| |
|
| 4.
Dates & Place |
| |
EIDF2008 will be held in Seoul , Korea , from Sep 22 through Sep 28, 2008. The Deadline for submitting the entry form and all necessary materials is June 30, 2008. |

| 5.
Program Selection |
| |
The selection committee of EIDF will review all films entered into EIDF2008 based on the regulations of the Korean Broadcasting Committee and the EBS censorship guide. |

| 6.
Award |
| |
Total of four awards for EIDF Competition Section will be given by the International Jury and the General Audience;
¤ýThe Grand Prix, USD 10,000 monetary award
¤ýThe Spirit Award, USD 7,000 monetary award
¤ýThe Special Jury Award, USD 5,000 monetary award
¤ýThe Audience Award, USD 3,000 monetary award
Please be advised that the above monetary awards will be subject to appropriate taxes. |

| 7.
Eligibility |
| |
EIDF accepts entries of non-fiction film or video works only, which were produced after January 1, 2007. Any length is acceptable, but lengths of over 30 minutes will be well considered. Works entered in EIDF must not have been released commercially, or broadcast in South Korea . |

| 8.
Entry |
| |
To enter a work for the Festival Selection Process to be featured in any section, a completed Entry Form and a preview VHS or DVD (region free) with English subtitles must be sent to;

There is no entry fee, no material return and no direct feedback.
Submitting an entry form does not guarantee an official invitation.

| 9.
Subtitling / Dubbing |
| |
Entrants should provide an English script.
EIDF will do the Korean subtitling or dubbing for all works.

| 10.
Exhibition |
| |
The selected works will be broadcast on EBS-TV during EIDF2008, and will be compensated based on EBS' standard licensing fees.

| 11.
Acceptance |
| |
To enter a work to be featured in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations by the producers or their legally authorized agents. * EIDF Organizing Committee has the right to rule on all cases not foreseen by these regulations. |
